Tsurumi Pump Hired Out For 37 Years

THE PROJECT

Tsurumi Pumps UK received a call from a tool hire company in Dorset, England, requesting a spare part for one of their hire fleet submersible pumps. Upon further inspection, it was discovered the pump had been purchased in 1979 and had been hired out on fleet until 2016, when it needed a replacement part.

THE PROBLEM

A spare part for a S-400 pump was enquired about by a tool hire company, but the requested parts were last sold in 1990. Upon inspecting the data plate, it was discovered it was purchased in 1979 and had been on the customers fleet for over 37 years, with a high return on investment.

THE SOLUTION

Tsurumi Pumps UK provided FH&S with the latest model, HS2.4S, so their 37-year-old working S-400 pump, could be added to their museum of long lasting pumps. Matthew Hill, MD at Tsurumi Pumps UK said: “this is a remarkable story for the tool hire industry, but not for us. We know how well-built Tsurumi pumps are, and come across examples regularly over 10 years old, but this S400 is special. This pump is another example that buying cheaper alternative brands is a false economy; Tsurumi pumps are bought to last and go on and on with minimal maintenance. The return on investment on our pumps is often colossal, as this S400 has proved”
