THE PROBLEM

Water penetrates the top of the mining shaft, washing away many sediments with a diameter of 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm. Both pumps and hoses quickly wear out under these conditions; the previous pumps had to be replaced approx. every six months.

THE SOLUTION

A Tsurumi type KTV2-22 construction pump, with a special pump housing made of PU rubber in 80A shore hardness, used in 24-hour continuous operations. The oldest pump of this kind operated continuously for 2.5 years without intensive maintenance. After an overhaul, only the mechanical seal, impeller, and the shaft protection housing, had to be exchanged.
