THE PROBLEM

A quick, problem-free filling solution of three silos with a volume of 10,000m3 water to test for leaks. The three silos, each 23m high, are part of the southern wastewater treatment plant of the Frankfurt Airport.

THE SOLUTION

Use of a model KRS822 immersion pump. The pump is set up dry and operated in a horizontal position. A carrying frame makes the pump transportable. The special characteristics of the pump, such as an internal mechanical seal, upstream shaft sleeve with gasket and an inhouse developed oil lifter, allow it to be operated dry in a horizontal position.
