THE PROBLEM
In the summer months, the standing water tends to silt up and towards “environmental collapse”. A natural inflow or outflow does not exist.
THE SOLUTION
Introduction of oxygen by means of submersible aerators. Three submersible aerators were deployed, each with a motor output of 0.75 kW, which blows ambient air into the water and, thereby, increases the oxygen level. An even admixture in the water is ensured through the arrangement of the submersible aerators in the stretch of water. In the summer months, the aerators are in continuous operation, while they are operated on an as-needed basis during the remaining months. Three smaller aerators were consciously selected since a single, large aerator would not be able to guarantee an even admixture.
